Jason, crushed by ship
the ancient headlines read;
he wanted just a nap—
but nostalgia crushed him dead.
A scholiast on Euripides’ Medea tells us that Jason, after Medea cursed him, was killed while napping beside the Argo; its rotting hull collapsed on top of him. Originally published on Instagram on April 12th, 2019, as part of a poem-a-day project I did for National Poetry Month. Now archived, but I was quite happy with how the formated image for it looked.
